Welcome to Maximilian James Watches!
As a long-time enthusiast of rare and beautiful precious metals in coin and bar form, I increasingly felt the desire in the early 2020s to wear these metals in everyday life without drawing too much attention.
While these metals have long been established in the jewelry and watch industry, usually only as alloys or coatings, they have rarely been used as a high-purity dial that allows one to admire the element in its original, pure form.
These heavy elements were forged billions of years ago in the depths of the universe through supernovae and neutron star collisions; they truly deserve to be seen and appreciated in their primal (and timeless) form.
I am particularly proud to be the first to offer mystical, deep-blue shimmering osmium – the rarest of all non-radioactive precious metals – as a finely ground and polished dial in a wristwatch.
But the other platinum-group metals, as well as gold, silver, tantalum, and copper, also shine in breathtaking colors. Every single dial is personally hand-ground by me.
A big thank you also goes to our partner companies listed below, who made this unique watch project possible.

Sellita
The precise heart
The high-quality mechanical movements are handcrafted in Switzerland, the world's renowned centre for precision and reliability in watchmaking.
MetaMetals
Birth if the dial
The dials of our watches are pressed in Austria from the rarest (precious) metals under high heat (sintering). This process guarantees exceptional quality and forms the basis for the unique character of each watch.
Whiten
The perfect finish
At BW-Atelier in the gold city of Pforzheim, the meticulous final assembly takes place: printing of the dial, engraving, DLC, hands - every detail is checked and every watch model is tested for its precision - a guarantee for the highest quality and craftsmanship.
